Free Fun Math Worksheets

Do you struggle to get your kids to learn their Times Tables? Do you dread every test result? The answer is to make learning FUN and with the following 5 FREE worksheets your kids will be multiplying and dividing and then ask for more!

I am a grade 5 Math teacher and every year I see the number of children with a HUGE fear of Math, grow larger and larger! They not only fear Math, they openly admit that they hate it! As a result they stress when doing homework or writing a test. The result? They stop trying and then perform poorly!

It really breaks my heart to see kids struggle and that is why I have started this blog. To provide parents and teachers with some fun and engaging worksheets and games. I use these in my own classroom to motivate the kids. If we can break the barrier of their negative attitude then we are on the right path!

I’M POSSIBLE!”

1. Math Riddles

One of my favorites is definitely Math Riddles! Kids just love riddles and in this Free Riddle “How do bees get to school?” they have to use multiplication to get the answer. Each operation has a letter that is written at the bottom to solve the riddle. What great joy to see their faces light up when they read the answer out loud!

2. Plot the Picture

Many kids get bored with the normal Math drills and I don’t blame them! So I try to combat this by combining Math and Art. The moment they can draw a picture and then give it some color, I find a lot more engagement from my students.

With this fun activity they first have to do all the calculations (multiply, add or subtract) and then they need to plot the picture. I let my kids first write all the answers before they start plotting. This ensure that they will experience success which is so important in building confidence. Now they need to plot and join the answers on the 10 x 10 grid with a pencil and ruler, starting with the first answer as the starting point. They can go diagonally between the dots. This is also a great activity for concentration! When they are finished they can color it in.

3. Multiplication Wheels

Let’s be honest – not knowing your Times Tables spells disaster! You need it in the Math class but you also need it in real life. Give your kids some much needed practice with this free x4 Multiplication Wheel worksheet. No prep, just print and use, This will also be great to review the Math facts before a test. They need to multiply or divide to complete the circles.

There are 6 multiplication wheels on the page. I like to mix the numbers so that it is not done in order from 1 to 12 – they really have to think. The wheels are also from easy (only multiplication) to more difficult (multiplication and division) and the last wheel is only division. Set a time limit so that the kids need to complete this as fast as possible! The x7 worksheet is included in this pack but you can also download the 4 times table worksheet for free . To revise the other Times Tables your can get it from my TPT Store HERE.

4. Math Word Search

Who doesn’t love a Word Search? My kids can’t get enough of it and that is why I have made this Math Word Search! They need to multiply and divide first to get all the answers. Then they need to find the answers, but in word form in the Word Search. For example the first calculation is 3 x 4 = 12 and they need to look for the word twelve! They can highlight the words or circle them. The answers are from left to right, down as well as diagonally. Such fun! They don’t even realize that they are doing Math! Also ideal for early finishers and Math centers.

5. Math Puzzles

My kids just love puzzles! It is that sense of accomplishment when you fit the last piece into the puzzle and the picture comes to life! Magic! With this free puzzle they need to multiply and divide to get the answers. Then they cut the puzzle pieces out and paste each answer on top of the correct calculation. This cute monster puzzle will look great if they give it some color! Why not make a whole family of monsters all in different colors!

These 5 worksheets really gave my students a lot of practice while having fun with their Math facts. It all happened in a relaxed atmosphere and even the ones who are usually very negative towards Mathematics, couldn’t wait to finish these fun activities! Yes, they even asked for more so I will definitely be making more of these!
